When we need to carry a portable generator, I would like to have a way to carry it without putting it in the back of our truck.
We have a 2025 315RLTS travel trailer.
Any suggestions?

Huge front pass through. Put it there. Build a rack over the propane bottles. Put it there

What size generator? Why are you opposed to carrying it in your truck bed? Is it the lifting in and out the issue?

How about a front mount receiver hitch?

I use one on my truck for a bike rack and tray to carry a gen set.

OP could also purchase a front under bumper hitch for their TV. Installed one on my F250 for forward parking trailers, could also use it for a gene carrier tray?

It actually works well for PM under the hood too!

Great minds think alike...LOL

We run a Cummins P4500i that does fit under the hard bed cover. We also installed a small hoist in the garage rafters to lift it in and out along with the B&W hitch. Works very nice.

The rack over the propane bottles is probably your best bet. I had it attached to a rack I built on the rear of fifthwheel, but it will vibrate your teeth out, so I moved it to the truck bed, much quieter, no vibration,
I would test run the genny on the front of your trailer before you make it a permanent install ymmv.😀

That probably wouldn't be a good idea on a newer truck that has front cameras and automatic braking or automatic cruise control.

You probably already have the generator, but I went with dual 2500W generators and a parallel kit. That way the wife can get minimal power in a pinch and I don't have to deal with lifting an 80 pound gennie back and forth.

Two things (all IMO of course)... First, one should never use cruise control when towing a trailer - so placing a genie in the front receiver for camping wouldnt be a problem (for those who dont "cruise") while towing. Second, cameras arent the only thing used for front proximity alerts. But either way, they probably can be turned off (as in my '23 F250's case). Now, if one wants to view the front of their TV while driving - would suppose the windshield would work better.

The one we have mounts under the bumper and when not used, doesnt effect the OEM electronic nanies at all. However, do agree if using it to say... place a bike rack w/bikes or genie tray w/genie etc.. when not towing may cause some issues with the nanies. Not towing makes the rear OEM receiver available for just such occassions. Again... just my $.02.

Happy Trails!

Obviously getting off track but why not use cruise when towing
I do

Technology is great until it isnt, and depending on it to function correctly doesnt spare the liability when it fails.... of course, again, IMO.
