Ceiling Fans

Will be purchasing a new Solitude 369RL this season, but was curious about if there is any option to have ceiling fan/s installed in the main living area and bedroom area?

To my knowledge, there isn't a ceiling fan option. Because of the extra tall slides, there isn't enough room (when the slides are retracted) for a fan to hang down that far. We don't miss having a ceiling fan at all and the extra headroom the taller slides provide is awesome. There's plenty of other ways to get air circulation.

Hi Samfox and welcome to the forums. Any is correct, there's no option, and with the slides in there's no room for a fan.
However, things are always changing and if you'll look at the bottom of the forums, you'll find the Manufacturer's Corner...http://www.granddesignowners.com/forum/forumdisplay.php/46-Manufacturer-s-Corner
Post your question there, it is monitored regularly by the GD guys. They'll have an answer to your question.

Thanks for the replies, went and looked at a 2015 369RL and it had a dishwasher at the end of the island, looks pretty cool! image.jpg

Yep we are trying to figure out if we can get the dishwasher in our 2014 369 RL! I don't really have anything in that end cabinet and drawer so if the plumbing is accessible we are going to try it!

Our dealer installed a ceiling fan in the living room of our 369RL. It's not quite centered in the room because of the slides. It sits a little closer to the kithen. At first, I was not happy that it wasn't centered, but now it looks like that's where it belonged. LOL. Definitely is helpful in the summer. We decided against one in the bedroom because we are pretty tall people (5'10" & 6'4"). The probability of an injury was too high! Haha!

I like the look of this. Just moving the air around can be a real improvement even without A/C.
Is this fan placed where there was a light before ?
If not, how would the dealer have wired this ??

I don't think there was a light before and I have no idea how they wired ... I just know it works, LOL. The fan is not on a wall switch, gotta pull the chain. But I will say that it works great and definitely moves the air around.

Hi Jeff,

Just looking more closely at your fan picture . . .
Is that a 12 V fan or a 120 V shore power fan ??

Rob

Hmmm . . . I was thinking that what we really need is a 12V fan for when there is no shore power.
On our boat, we use several Caframo Sirrocco Model fans.

Quiet, with really low power consumption (less than 0.5 amp on high) and move a reasonable amount of air.
The problem is that they have to be wall (or ceiling) mounted with a 12V power supply.

I just wanted to say hi there, as we were almost next door neighbors before we moved from Olalla :) Oh do I ever miss it there!

We, too, miss the ceiling fan we had in our prior fifth wheel. When I contacted Grand Design to see if we could install one in our 2014 Solitude, I was told that there is no wiring in the ceiling - everything up there is 12V.

Do you know how the dealer got 110 up to the ceiling to install the fan?
