I'm wanting to install a Maxxair 7500K fan in the bedroom ceiling of our 385TH. The only place it looks like there is room for it is immediately adjacent to the A/C unit on the aft side & between the "racetrack" ducts.

We like having the ability to have a roof vent/fan in the bedroom that is quiet and runs on 12v. (previous trailers had them, this one has an A/C unit but don't want to run it at night and it requires the generator - when boondocking)

I'm wondering if any one else has done this and if so how did it go?? Thanks

Well, I got it installed. The only thing in the way was one speaker wire but it had enough slack to route around the vent. Picked up power from bathroom fan power feed. Fairly easy install but was very hot on the roof doing that part.

It fit exactly between two rafters (16" O/C) and between the raceway air ducts.

Ran it yesterday and it made a significant difference in the indoor temp while "stored" in my side yard. I set temp. to come on at 96 deg. With a couple of other vents open it should move enough air to help keep the interior below 125 deg. where it was last week.

Thank you for that writeup and for the photos. It's nice to see what's up there in the ceiling, and how this could be done if we ever want to in the future.

It's been humid down here as well. We had a hot spell last Monday, but then the "June Gloom" came back a drizzled every morning. Where in Cen Cal are you?

Wow cutting a hole in the roof yourself requires a big set of balls...congrats on the self install.

Well, I don't know about that ;) I did drill some "cover-up-able" holes first in case something really ugly was up there.

If the "pros" can do it... I can do it
