For those who have a queen size bed and have upgraded mattresses, what size did you upgrade you gas support struts to? And how did you figure out what size to change to?

We just upped to the next size - GSNI-2300-120 (120 lbs). Look at your part number and the last digits would be the weight you currently have.

I believe the originals were 80 lb. The new ones are 150 lb. I changed them 3 years ago and this year I found that the hinge screws were pulling out, so I beefed them up. 150 lb. struts are just right for our new mattress.

We naturally upgraded our mattress to a Queen size Serta, which is heavier than the cheap crap that comes with the trailer. So my original struts only lasted about 6 months. And the brackets were ripped to shreds. I ordered heavy duty brackets and a couple of the 150 struts. Note that if you replace both with 150's you'll have a hard time keeping the bed DOWN. We noticed it when we stripped the bed to do laundry and it popped up.
