Members are weighing the decision to purchase another Grand Design Reflection 337RLS or switch to a different fifth wheel brand, such as Cougar, Durango, or Solitude, especially after years of full-time travel and changing needs. The original poster values the 337RLS floor plan but is concerned about recent negative reviews across all brands, particularly for models manufactured during and after the COVID era. Several RVers share their experiences with recent models, noting that while minor... More...

Hi all! So we have fulltimed traveled in our 2017 27RL Reflection since Feb.2019 and it has been a great little 5th wheel but in our older age we are needing a few more amenities. This is our 2nd Reflection our 1st was 2015 337RLS and we downsized before fulltime traveling.
We have read alot of negative reviews on all brands recently and not sure which one. I love the floor plan of the 2026 337RLS everything I want but DH is hesitant. He is looking at the Full profile Cougars or the Durango. But the only one I like that has all the amenities is 337RLS. Anyone have a 2025 or 2026 or even any that was manufactured during and after the covid era. Any major problems? We did have our floor shift in back about an inch or so but we actually think that was our fault because we had our carrying rack with bikes and generator to far off bumper so the bouncing up and down most likely contributed to that but got that fixed new sides and haven't had an issue since that was 2021 I believe.
So do we go with a new manufacturer or buy our 3rd Reflection. Lol
Thanks Tara

Impossible to answer. They are built by humans and are no better or worse than any other

You may get a great trailer or a piece of junk

I will never trade mine because of the stupid “new features” plus I haven’t had any major issues. Just keep what you have

🤞 and buy whichever make/model best suits your needs. Not sure any manufacturer survived, and, are not still having some issues after the COVID years..... Lots of testimonials from lots of folks on all makes these days.

We picked up our 2022 337 RLS in June of 2021.We had an issue with the left rear leveller, dealer took care of the cost of repair. Currently, it is in the shop to have the kitchen slide motor/actuator replaced. I'll probably have to pay for that, even though it looks like there was a poor installation at the factory. Other than those two issues, we have been problem free. We are not thinking about replacing, yet! The layout suits us perfectly. Besides, starting over with all the upgrades would be costly. WiFi router, EMS, Sound System, light dimmers, etc. etc.

We bought a hardly used 2021 337RLS in July of this year and absolutely love it. There were a few minor things I took care of (a couple of broken 120V outlets, the wiring for the bedroom reading lights & exterior blue lights under that slide) as well as just some typical maintenance things like replacing the 4 year old tires, installing the never used TPMS kit that came with the camper, packing the wheel bearings, etc. The rig also came with a Splendide washer & dryer set & I had to replace the drain pump in the washer. We love the floor plan & storage space. However, we are not quite retired yet so have only been able to take it out a couple times. We do have our own "campsite" with 50A & water at home though and use it there a good bit.

We have a Solitude 310GK.

If you are planning to travel a LOT, hubby is right to be uneasy.

We travel a lot. Our next rig will either be an Airstream travel trailer, or a Spacecraft or New Horizons fifth wheel.

If we didnt fulltime travel we would keep our 27RL nice little 5th wheel but since we are on the road all the time for over 7 years we need to trade.

Yes I know we were talking to owners of the Brinkley and the Alliance 5th wheels. Scary cause they also have some issues.

That's a nice set up at your home. We loved our 337RLS but after taking it out west to national parks before retirement we agreed didn't need that large one and traded for our 27RL.

Well, I have been following AJGs issues with trepidation. And, I don't want to jinx it. BUT, we bought a 2025 Solitude 370DV eleven months ago. We pulled it from Virginia to Florida. Then back to Virginia. Then to western Carolina. Then down to Florida again. Knock wood (and fingers crossed to ward off the evil spirits) but we have had not a single issue. Like, not one. I am a fanatic about maintenance and touching the rig A LOT. If the layout met our needs for a next rig, based on our current experience, we would absolutely buy another Grand Design. We still own a house, but have been full time since this past August. Also, FWIW, I insist on driving at no more than 63 mph. I get passed a lot by bigger rigs, but I truly believe that slower is gentler on the whole setup even though I am pulling with a diesel dually.

That's nice to hear. We too only drive max 63. We r never in a hurry. We looked at the Solitude 310GK but we're not thrilled with the bathroom storage. We talked to a solitude owner just the week in a campground his is a 2023 they fulltime and he also has had no complaints.

Do you have problems with your solitude
Short answer, yes.
I caught it early from an inspection, before any visible signs showed up.

I’ll tell you what I tell everyone in this type of discussion. If you plan to travel a lot of miles, get an air hitch (or some type of cushioning pinbox) and MORRyde IS, and that will preserve it longer.

Ask how much they travel. That’s usually the key.

I have - same year 310GK-R. Mostly suspension issues - repeatedly.
I remember at one time you were thinking about the MORRyde IS. Are you still thinking about it? We had it installed after owning the rig about 9 months, and so far have escaped all the I-beam web cracks that are otherwise common.

Yes, but. Waiting for the next bushing/spring/bolt issue as I want to see if the LCI re-alignment of hangers might have been a causal factor. Hard to justify with GD replacing axles, brakes, tires, wheels, springs, etc. - everything is new from the frame down.
