Thought it might be helpful to some not familiar with the WFCO converter/chargers and whether or not they can be disconnected when they are "integrated". This based on some other posts I've read.
These power center combine in one fashion or another the AC distribution, DC distribution, converter (120V AC to 12V DC), and 12V charger (for charging the battery). Some units have all these components integrated physically into a single device. Others have two physically separate devices for distribution and conversion/charging (think a Progressive Dynamics type converter/charger).
The confusion seems to come in where a single integrated unit is involved. While these components are physically integrated into one device, they can still be separated by identifying the correct wires and disconnecting them.
Let's say you are considering installing Victron Multiplus (just an example here, not trying to spend anyone's money). Since this device incorporates its own converter and charger. You would want to disconnect the converter and charger from the OEM power panel and tie the new system in. You can easily do this by looking at the power center and schematics that are affixed to it, locate the correct wire behind the panel and disconnect it. You cannot physically remove the converter/charger but you can disconnect it and leave it where it is. Now you can tie in the new devices without any issue.
in case that helps anyone out there...
