What do y'all have and why? I did notice that Coachnet now has AirMed included. GoodSam's has their pland 50% off right now.

Never had roadside assistance and never missed it. Others will swear by it.

My parents paid for AAA for 50+ years before they actually needed it for the first time. Personally, I don't know why someone would want the hassle of calling a dispatcher, wait to hear that someone is on the way, call back because nobody showed up after an hour, learn they didn't participate in the plan, wait to hear again, wait another hour (now 11:00PM), wondering the whole time if anyone will show up at all. Finally, get someone there to help.

Personally, I'd rather pay to just call the nearest 24 hour tow and talk to them directly and pay them directly and be done with it. But my parents were thrilled that a portion of the whole incident was covered. At 80 years old I would have preferred they just got off the side of the road asap by calling a tow service directly, or called me to find one for them, without having to make sure they participated in a certain roadside plan. :)

Had to use our Good Sam last year. They are worthless. Ended up having to find what we needed on our own.

We have Coachnet and it is great. Have had to use it three times within the past few years. They provide more than just a dispatch service. They also get an RV tech on the phone to help troubleshoot problems and determine what service is required. They have helped us find RV repair facilities near our location or on our route. If a tow or mobile repair tech is required they find nearest and quickest available and dispatch to your location. We have been very happy with the service, it provides peace of mind knowing you have someone to call when you need help. We highly recommend Coachnet.

Can't provide a review of Good Sam since we have no experience with them.

I don't believe this is widely known but back in 2023 Coach-Net was bought out by Blue Compass. I believe this is a strategy for further competition with Camping World / Good Sam.

Personally we went with the FMCA Roadside Rescue. You do have to be a FMCA/FRVA member which has its own benefits. The Roadside Rescue program is in addition to the membership but I felt it was worthwhile. The company (SafeRide) backing this program is the same that GD provides to new owners and this same company also backs many other roadside assistance brands/programs. Worth looking into.

Something to keep in mind is that (afaik) none of these road side assistance companies directly provide the assistance, they all contract out to providers local to where you are having your issue.

Stay away from Good Sam for roadside assistance. After calling them we sat on the highway for 2 hours and they were still trying to negotiate someone to come. Called a tow service directly and they were there in 30 min. They had AAA on the side of the truck and ive been with AAA ever since. BTW, once the guy arrived to fix my problem I called Good Sam and they said they were still negotiating to get someone. I immediately told Good Sam to cancel my policy which they did and then proceeded to chew their ass. POS company for roadside assistance. Their annual membership is great for discounts on rv parks and gas.

Good Sam?? Never again. My wife and i were stuck on the side of a busy road with our truck and 5th wheel. My truck blew a heater hose leaving us blocking a side street. Our area was pretty desolate with only one tow company with a truck large enough to tow both our truck with RV attached. The tow company said it was a busy night for them but could be there in two hours. I told them to schedule us but that they would probably be hearing from our GS roadside assistance with further instruction. I immediately called GS and spoke with a very nice customer service rep and told her my situation. We talked for over half and hour and she said she would call the tow company and make arrangements for payment. When the driver showed up he said GS had instructed him to tell us to pay him directly and then GS would pay me back. A day later when i called GS back for my reimbursement, they said they wouldn’t reimburse me because i initiated the call with the tow company. If the CS rep had told me that in our previous conversation, i would have cancelled my appointment and let them handle everything. Needless to say, i dropped GS and went with FMCA. On the brightside, i have Progressive insurance on the RV and they compensated me no questions asked! All my vehicles are now insured through Progressive insurance!

Both CoachNet and Goodsams have let us down with and without the trailer. Not sure which was worse  even tho the situations were different...either way they both let us down.

We are now with FMCA Roadside, have not needed to test them out yet

I agree with Steve and Katey. FMCA benefits far outweigh all the others.

Does that answer his question?

I had AAA and GS at the same time. Called both to fix a flat. AAA said 45 minutes and GS said 2 hours. Turned out it was the same tow company. Another time with GS they showed up with a 1 1/2 ton Jack to lift the fourth wheel. They got it lifted and changed in 20 minutes on the side of I-35. A place I never wanted to be. Some will only tow you to the nearest service center. That could be the nearest gas station. GS wanted to tow me to the local gas station for a blown transmission. Not good.

I have Good Sam. I only used it once (well twice for the same thing), and that was for my 2006 Monte Carlo SS. They said they had to tow to the nearest place that could fix the issue, or I had to pay the tow. I knew that it HAD to go to a dealership (body control module went bad). They said if the first place could not fix it they would tow to a place of my choosing. Well they could not fix it. The mechanic had checked around (after finding out what I already knew) and was told it had to go to a dealership. Good Sam then did tow it to the Dealership. Mind you the tow company was 60 miles away from my home, and they had to tow it 20 additional miles to the dealership. the total time was 5 days to the final destination, which did not bother me since the car was never used for transportation anyway. Now if I had been on the road with the trailer obviously I would not have been happy.

Does that answer his question?
Not sure I understand your question based on my response, but yes, I believe I answered the question "What do y'all have and why?" I answered I don't have anything and why. Does that answer your question? :)
