Hello,

We have a new to us, 2022 Momentum 381M toy hauler. I’ve been trying to connect to the Compass Connect App without success. Im using an IPhone 13 to access the app. My Bluetooth, location, and cellular data are all turned on under settings. I have scanned the gateway label and manually entered the info without luck. I get an error message that it cannot connect to the gateway. The One Control device and Gateway device that are on top of the cabinet do have power to them. Anyone else have this problem, or thoughts on next steps? I tried the customer service as well without any connection.

Thanks!

Solar won’t connect to app

Hello,

We have a new to us, 2022 Momentum 381M toy hauler. Looking through the paperwork we received with the trailer the solar connects to an app. I have downloaded the “Solar” app however when I go to the add device it cannot find my device to connect. The solar on our trailer does not have a monitor that shows the stats for the solar. It has a BT-2 bluetooth which from my understanding is what connects it to the app. The BT-2 device does appear to have power to it. I cannot get it to be found on the app when I search for devices. The access settings are turned on for bluetooth and cellular data for the app. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Thread moved to Control Systems and threads merged.

The panel in the trailer that runs everything such as lights etc does not have a “connect” option. It’s a touch screen.

Hey there!

I had to cycle power to the Bluetooth module for it to show up in the solar app when I searched for a device. After that I'm able to connect to it as normal.

For some reason, I didn't have luck with the Compass Connect app and used the Lippert One Control app (same thing as I understand it).

I feel for you. I'm in the same situation. Mine was actually working for a while. One morning it decided to stop working. Shows " Compass Connect could not find your rv". I tried resetting the system, killed all power to the rv, restarted, deleted app, downloaded again, nothing works. It been three weeks. I have just about done with G Design. A lot of money for crappy product. Sorry for the rant. Good luck!

I’m pretty sure our problems stem from iPhones updating the OS, something that’s been happening frequently. While on a recent trip, Compass Connect (which had worked perfectly for over a year) suddenly refused to connect. I had to go back to using One Control to have access to the TPMS for the trip home. Unfortunately there’s occasionally an incompatibility issue after such updates that the app publisher has to fix. Not certain - just my theory. But incompatibility after an OS update is common across the spectrum of apps.

I worked with the Compass Connect app for about 3 hours today. I final was able get my phone connected to "My RV" at least it showed that in the settings but the app would say "Not Connected" "RV offline". I deleted the app and reinstalled it 3 times, killed all power to the RV and disconnected the negative terminal 3 time but no luck. The a/c fan in the garage was set and running on Low even though the a/c was turned off. I tried to switch the fan setting from low to auto, so the fan would turn off but it went to High on its own. Now the a/c fan will not turn off. I ended up turning the 3rd a/c breaker off. I call Lippert Monday and see if they can help.

One bit of advice that I will offer, and this is what works for me. I don't have Apple products, I use Android, but I keep all my apps for almost everything set to manually update instead of automatically update. That is done via my acct with google and the play store. I've read way too many times over the years about updates to an app and then it's buggy for a month....tow months....6 months.....however long it takes the app developer to diagnose and correct the bugs in the new update. So after I quit seeing reports of issues with an update, I will look and see what the update is actually about and what benefit it might be to me, or not. I kind of go by the old adage.......If it works, leave it alone.

Quite often a phone reboot fixes it for me.
