I just had a big storm come through with one lightning strike real close. Nothing on the compass control will work now. It lights up and flashes. The lights, awning, slides, etc are not working. How do I get this back working?

Sounds like your Unity board could be toast.

That is what I am afraid of. I have called GD, but they have not called me back. Everything else still works. I can manually close my big slide, but I don't know how to close the small slide.

Boy, that's a bummer. Let us know what you end up doing. Got me thinking about what a person would do in that situation? If the awning happened to be out when it happened it can be manually rolled in. Not really sure about the slide (Schwintek in our case). Water pump if no hookups; manually connect wires for power? Water heater, not sure...? Makes me think I need a plan if I would lose our One Control panel. That would suck.

Google manually close a Schwintek slide

I found this video on the web. It looks like you can manually override the schwintek slide out. I hope this helps.

This will not work being it says to push in the slide button after the override. I did find out how to disconnect the motors and push the slide in (hopefully). I will be heading home tomorrow morning if I can get the slides in. Below are the instructions from my manual.

Manually push the slide room in override
1. LOCATE the circuit board.
2. UNPLUG both motors from circuit board.
(this will release the motor brake)
3. PUSH or PULL slide room in as desired;
◦ Larger rooms may require several people to push.
◦ Keep both sides of room relatively even.
4. When the bedroom slide is completely in,
PLUG both the motors back into the control board
(this applies the motor brake for road travel).

Never have been a fan of the touchscreen "improvement", and this just strengthens my feelings. Luckily our slides are controlled by manual switches, and not a touchscreen.

Rereading the instructions I have a question. Do I still put it in "override" prior to unplugging the motors? Has anyone actually done this?

Wonder how inter-related the touchscreen and switches are (or not)? I can put slides in/out via touch screen, switches, or phone app. I have to wonder if the switches run through the Unity board or are a direct connection? Touchscreen knows when they are moving. I'd hope the switches would override anything in the touchscreen but now I'm not sure given the master Unity board fuse in my fuse panel.

On our RV, the Unity Board is protected by a 30Amp DC fuse in the fuse panel. Might want to have a look at that if you have one and if you do whether it is still functional. I was chasing down a hot water heater issue when I came across this fuse and nobody could tell me what it was for until I found the LCI One Control Install Manual here https://lci-support-doc.s3.amazonaws.com/manuals/electronics/ccd-0002697.pdf. When I pulled the fuse, my touchscreen went dark and Bluetooth connection was lost. Pic of fuse is in first post in this thread. Worth a look anyway. https://www.mygrandrv.com/forum/showthread.php/50389-30Amp-DC-fuse-labeled-X-1?highlight=unity+fuse

I don't have that fuse.

Right now my plan is to try to push in the Swintech slide first thing in the morning. If I can get this in I will crank in the other slide. We are taking everything out of the bedroom being I will not be able to access it again.

There is no power on the Schwintek control, so I cannot disengage the brake. This means the slide will not push in.

Edit: Finally some good news. A tech will be here tomorrow morning to close my slides in where I can head home.

Unbelievable!! I just had the same thing happen!!
I am still waiting for total fix. It’s been a month with tech coming in and out changing out computer boards, etc.. not only did my unity board go, but I can’t use the Shintech slide, even though we’ve replaced the unity board, and the awning does not work. The tech is coming back today or tomorrow and will try to fix those two things as well. It’s a long process that’s for sure, and I cannot believe somebody just posted this because it literally just happened to me at the end of June. I hope you called your insurance company.

Being my trailer is under warranty I am hoping they take care of it. Another person posted about the same issue on another forum. Something is not right somewhere.

Don’t say anything about lightning.
It’s my understanding that there is an issue, but Lippert denies claims saying it was caused by a surge.
