Counter top cracked and lifting off surface

Kitchen stainless steel counter top laminate damage on 2023 Imagine. Certaining NOT from heat. Laminate not glued fully - simply "buckled". I've attemped to repair using Liquid Nails, but its not permanently holding. Rig new Aug 2022.

We had the same thing on our 295RL island sink suround laminate. Used Gorilla Glue and a block to hold the newly glued laminate tightly down for 24hrs. So far its worked for the past year. If you do get it to stick, be sure to use 100% silicone to seal the edges of the laminate/sink transition. Thats why ours started delaminating in the first place.

That is unacceptable for what these units cost. I would request the entire counter be replaced. If that is an island sink counter it should be fairly simple for an owner to replace themself. I hauled a nearly full coffee pot in our sink and broke one edge loose. The wood screwed to the bottom of counter missed the flange and didn't hold the bond to underside of counter with the weight of full coffee pot. I am going to be checking real close that I completely sealed edge of sink to counter. It was real handy to stop after driving a bit for the day and having a refill of coffee.

I am so glad when I purchased my trailer that I bought one without that type of countertop. When I first saw it, I thought it would be miserable to keep clean. The one we got is the hard stone type top. We do have the cheaper countertop in the bathroom.

I cannot believe it would be that difficult to just replace the top completely and checking the Grand Design parts website, they just may sell you just the top. The problem is, what makes you think the next one will last as long?

Our kitchen countertop is also delaminating around the sink. Has anyone had luck with a long term fix for this?

Sink laminate damage

We have had that same thing on our 295RL sink too. We used Gorilla glue, placed a small sized block over the repaired area, and put pressure on it for 24hrs until glue cured.

We then got clear sealant for sinks and tubs to reseal the entire laminate/sink transition to ensure no more water intrusion under the laminate.

Since doing so 2yrs ago and maintaining the sealant properly, have not had any more issues with the laminate coming off.

Note: With these laminated cabinet to sink transitions, its imperative to inspect the clear sealant protection. Its very easy when cleaning up water residue from left over sink usage to partially remove or damage the clear sealant in this area. Ensuring the sealant is still intact will keep the water from getting under the laminate and causing it to "bubble up" or lift from the cabinet material.
