On the way back from Elkhart, another 310GK pulled in a couple of sites down - 3 ACs on top. That was an option when we purchased but due to supply chain issues, only the larger units were getting them. What we received were two 15K Colemans. Made me wonder if the normal config is 15K living area and 13.5K bedroom or two 15K units for a two AC version. Our bedroom AC goes a long way to cooling off the entire interior.

They are both 15k btu units.

And just so you know, the units that come from the factory will normally have two 15K BTU units and one 13.5K BTU unit. One of the 15K units and the 13.5K unit will be fed from one of the incoming lines...say L1, and the other 15K will be fed from the other incoming line...L2. That goes towards helping to balance the load in the two incoming lines.

I'm not sure what the two AC's in the living room and garage are, but the one AC in the bedroom, small bedroom, is a 15,000 BTU unit. They all look the same, so maybe they all are. The parts look up at Grand Design website shows 2 15,000 BTU and 1 13,500 BTU. Just is weird they'd put one of the bigger ones in the smallest room.

That's why I asked - it sure helps to cool the inside down. We've been in 100+ temps with upper 90s in the trailer after a days travel. The amount of air from the bedroom unit eventually shut our main thermostat off. Not complaining, just curious as I had wanted the 3rd AC initially but was told I couldn't get it due to supply chain shortages.

Yes, that works for us too. The bedroom AC does a good job of cooling the rest of the living area. Just seems weird to have the main AC vented into the bathroom and bedroom when there's that huge AC cooling one little room. LOL

They use the racetrack ducting, so it really doesn't matter where the actual unit is sitting.

Unless you would meter the air coming out of the actual unit duct, you wouldn't know the difference between 13.5 or 15k.

My ‘24 came from the factory with 3 15k units. Maybe it’s a Texas thing due to heat. Two living area AC’s and the bedroom. All on the racetrack ducting with the the old school dump function except the center which is ducted with the styrofoam plug. Forgot the name of that system.

With three units and dump function on two it cools fast. Once cooled we drop down to one or two units and usually only one at night.

My last trailer, the LR ac was only ducted. I could barely hear it running. That was really nice. However, it took forever to cool the LR when heat soaked at 100 degrees and access for maintenance was all from the roof. This system is loud as heck but sure does work well.
