Dealing with Paul Evertt RV? Specifically Fife and Mount Vernon, WA

We bought a Momentum 355th this last weekend from the Seattle RV Show from them. It is scheduled for pick up and walk through on Friday, 2/27. I am interested in hearing about any issues that you or anyone else are having, as no doubt I will be dealing with them also.

We are in the process of purchasing from them. Would you be willing to share what type of issues you are having so we can decide on staying with them or going through another dealer?

If you want a Granddesignrv and don't want a 3-4hr drive to the dealer, you don't have much choice. Nobody followed through with anything. I would make repeated calls for days to the service manager and get no response. I emailed Dean the CSR at GD with a few pics, and he sent me the replacement items directly to me to install. The one major item we waited a couple months for, nobody actually ever called the factory to verify it. They would have discovered they never even ordered it! I would definitely buy another Grand Design product without hesitation. They are a fantastic company that has a commitment to their product that is impressive. I still hope the Mt Vernon and Fife stores can make the changes necessary to be a reliable dealer. We knew more about the new trailer than the tech that performed our walk through! Let's just say that I have been less than impressed with the dealer service so far.

So sorry to hear of the service department problems. My wife (Marci) has done about 14 months of research on the toy haulers that are being manufatured now. We kinda had 3 in mind. But upon seeing the GD, she was toast. Even though we had a deal on the table for a Tesla 3212! Thor from Paul Evert not only matched the deal we thought we had, but even beat it by $500. This on a 5th-wheel that retails for 8 grand more.Trading in our 2006 Coachman Adenaline 400DS for a fair price, and we hope that we are as lucky with the performance that we've had with the Adrenaline. There are sooo many more "bells and whistles" that it's almost intimidating.

If you want, send me a PM or e-mail ([email protected]) and I can send more details about what we have been going through for the last 4-5 months - mostly out of MV store, but some of the Fife location initially also.

Mark buying a RV at Paul Evert's is easy, for me they could save money and get rid of there salesmen because it didn't take one to sell me my 369RL, I honestly think you could train monkeys to sell them, if only they could train monkeys to due the repairs and order the parts, if you need warranty work done there just be prepared to be without your 355TH for awhile

Good luck. I hope your experience is better. Jeff never ordered our parts, or returned calls for a couple weeks. I get mine directly from Grand Design in a few days and fix it myself now. I hold out hope they are getting their program together and I will have a better experience if I need to deal with them in the future. Buying a new trailer was a big decision for us. We love our Reflection, but have been disappointed with our experience so far. Having the peace of mind with the warranty was one of our reasons to buy new. Thank goodness Grand Design goes out of their way to make it right when things go wrong!

Did you ask them if the deposit was nonrefundable before you signed the contract? Hard to fault BYoung RV if the deposit was nonrefundable.

My issues with the MV store continues to drag on. They have now had most of the parts needed for over a week to get my rig back on the road (the only parts missing are cosmetic and not required to drive down the road). I returned to town today from being gone for 5 days and the rig is still sitting in the same place that it has been in for over a month, the pile of parts (axle, tires, etc...) are still sitting in the same place as when they were dropped off. They had assured me since we had waited so long (partly due to them) that we would be a top priority once the parts came in...I had told them not to wait on the cosmetic parts as they aren't critical to the function)...SO FAR THEY HAVE FAILED MISERABLY ON ALL ASPECTS OF SERVICE - and that is a kind way of saying it.

OK...47 days after the issue started, we finally have our 385TH sitting at home in our driveway. HOWEVER, not all issues are resolved. The dealer waited for the last minute to start addressing some of the other items noted during our PDI and realized that one of the storage doors was not repairable and had to order one. They also didn't complete an alignment (still need to resolve that one) and they didn't find out why I had water dripping out from underneath the unit between the black plastic cardboard and the frame - I am supposed to keep track of what I am doing and see if I see it leaking water again. So it will be going back to them for the storage door replacement and to install the graphics that we removed with the damaged paneling and bad door. I did get a call from GD and they said they will be starting my warranty period over since the repairs took SO LONG to do to this point. Hopefully we can hit the road in the next couple of weekends for our first time out since "owning" it for 4 month!

NOT THE BEST EXPERIENCE WITH THE DEALERSHIP TO SAY THE LEAST!

We are currantly waiting to do our PDI at the Fife location for our "new" 2014 355TH. It is to be delivered to the dealership tomorrow, which pushes our PDI to Wednesday. Sorry to hear about your troubles there (makes me nervous). Wish me luck, and hopefully you get years of enjoyment from your TH.

You know, it's sad that when a dealer continually performs poorly on service/warranty work, folks just quit taking the work there, yet the dealer is allowed to continue selling the product to unsuspecting folks that don't realize they will get crappy service when work needs to be done on their rig by the selling dealer. Then, the dealers that do a good job get flooded with work and people complain about the long wait times. Sometimes it makes me wonder since warranty work is not a money maker for the dealer but sales is. Makes me scratch my head and go hmmmmm....

I'll never believe that warranty work is not profitable, as the dealer's being paid his full regular labor rate per hour. And there's no base rate manual like in the car business where they pay a flat amount for a job task--no matter if the technician is fast and efficient.

My dealer charges a ridiculous $125 per labor hour for both mechanical work and body shop work. Before I pay that much (out of warranty), I'd be researching the job task, and I'd fix it myself.

If a dealership's losing money at $125 per labor hour, their service department management would need replacement. Or, they need to change accountiing practices.

I think this is a really interesting thread, I live in Bothell and am looking at Blue-Dog. To be honest it is because both Kennewick and Post Falls have the model I want in stock.

The woman I worked with at the Seattle RV Show to buy that same 355 (assume you got the one at the show) or a 350 that is on its way was not very helpful and Blue-Dog has been friendly, knowledgable and responsive. I just wish they were closer...

Has anyone dealt with Blue-Dog? Is it worth the drive?

My wife said we would only make the deal if they shipped us a "fresh" 355TH from another location. She did not want the one that had been at the Seattle show (couldn't blame her). But we got it for the same price as the one there. It is supposed to arrive at the dealer in Milton today for our PDI on Wednesday. Good luck on your search!

Yes and yes :) Caveat - the Kennewick location was friendly and helpful - they didn't have the rig we wanted on the lot, and managed to hi-jack a rig that was headed to another dealer. So we bought from Kennewick because they are closer to our home (we live in the Puget Sound region). BUT they didn't fix all the things we pointed out during our PDI. We didn't notice at the time because we had our rig delivered to our lot in NE Washington. The Post Falls location is closer to our lot and they sent a service tech out at no charge to us to fix everything up. There was one issue with a slide that he couldn't fix on-site, so they picked up the rig, took it in, fixed it, and had it back to us within a week, at no charge. So, I'm pretty pleased with them as a whole.

Not an owner yet, but hope to be soon. This is very good information, this is not the 1st place I have heard not so great thing about this particular dealer, so we are looking at purchasing in either CA or Denver, the two dealers there both seem to have good reputations, I am trying the "Lets Make a Deal" game now. I was wondering about service in my area should the need arise. I was gagga over these too, nothing else seemed to compare or have all the features both me and the hubby want. He is not thrilled that 350M won't fit in our current shop/RV bay, but it's too small for almost all the toy haulers.

Try Blue Dog RV in Kennewick. Probably closer than either CA or CO
