Demystifying Cellular Connectivity for Mobile RV Workers, Part 1.

I've gotten a LOT of questions about this...so it's time to break it down. For those of us who work Mobile, rely on Cellular, but need to know the facts, I've started a series on Odd Realities (our website)

In this segment I offer a brief rundown of the equipment needed, why and talk about the importance of the ubiquitous Omni-Directional Antenna; including weaknesses, use cases and considerations.

I also offer this in my "non-technical", informal style. Take a look, it's a bit on the longer side, but very much worth it if you use Cellular Connectivity for your main or back-up access plan!

The good folks over at Technomadia have been keeping us abrest of this field for a long time:

Oh yes, I'm an avid reader and paid member of The RV Internet Resource Center. I mean to cast no stones. They cover a lot, but miss a few fine details (cabling is an important one!). I'm simply here to fill in (as non-technically as possible...though I can go "full-tech" if needed) a few of the finer details that many people miss--and make a HUGE difference.

I hope you enjoy!

Thanks CL and Rob, this is a subject that I was going to have to research, so you guys have saved me a lot of time. My job allows me to work remotely, and am planning on upgrading truck and graduate to a 5th wheel and join the "half-time" club (wife wants to full time, so that maybe in our future too). Enjoyed talking to you Rob at Chester Frost, sorry I didn't make it back down to talk some more. Hopefully our paths will cross again.

Enjoyed talking with you, too - sorry we couldn't do it more. Maybe we'll cross paths again sometime.

We use the WeBoost Trucker edition in the truck and the travel trailer. has worked great for us so far. It boosts the LTE signal on my phone which I use as a hot spot.
