Downsizing the bed

We have a new 370BHS which had a king bed. My wife hates it because there is little room on either side of the bed. The box is smaller than a King so it is just the plywood that extends out to the size of the queen. I am thinking of just narrowing the plywood overlay to the size of a queen. It will still have overhang from the box. Anyone know of any issues that could cause or things I would need to watch for?

It looks like you're new here, welcome to the forum. Your wife is not the first to want more room. Others have done what you're proposing, I don't think you'll have any issues.

We did this with no issues. If you get a better residential mattress, it will be heavier and you may need to replace the struts under the bed.
