Hello to all and safe travels to all.
Ive been a Superintendent for 27 years in construction building skyscrapers, Midrises, Hotels etc. Ive live in so many RVs I lost count. I only buy high end fifth wheels. When purchasing these houses on wheels I look at all the things that can go wrong and whos fixing it and how quick it will get fixed. Ive also had a new diesel all duallys since 1988 every 3 years. Ive covered the pile, lol. Lets start with the important stuff first. Structure, independent wheels, bearings. Then the furnace, air, plumbing and then the slide outs. I look at who manufactured this stuff and what the actual warrantys are in writing. You get the picture. Out of all the high end fifth wheels Ive less problems out of the DRV Suites. Yes there more money, but less issues. Theres only a few to consider as is. They range around the same price, just under 200K. I tell all my construction friends who are looking at this distructive investment to live with the smallest one you can. The bigger it gets the more it cost to deal with. Ive always picked up the fifth wheels with attic packages in them because Im all over the place. 16 below 0 wasnt a problem. A lot of snow and extreme heat. You have to keep an eye on everything especially when your moving them around a lot. Your bouncing a house down the road. I get a lot of questions on which truck to use. Ive had less problems with the Cummins. Heres my thing, when Im paying this kind of money for this I want it to work and expect it to work. Ive been to meetings with truck companys and RV companys. Gone over an over the products used to build these things. The quality is only going to get so good.
Do yourself a favor and research it to death and dont always believe what you read on google.
