Hi all. I had a plumbing leak that we fixed. The water heater was bypassed on the nautilus panel but someone inside the camper turned it on gas mode when I went to get parts. I came back and turned it off. The leaks were fixed but when I filled the tank and turned the gas on it won’t stay lit. The water heater ignites but then goes out. The t stat, eco, thermal fuse, and 2amp board fuse are all good. It does this a few times and then the DSI comes on and locks me out. Any ideas?

Not a propane issue. I ordered a new flame sensor/ignitor. Hopefully it’s that. It was raining so I didn’t test it for milliamps. Everything else checks out other than the main board.

So the water heater was on (gas mode) with no water in the tank? If so I might think that some thermal device tripped (and is still tripped). Did you fill the tank with water again before testing everything?

You said you "... came back and turned it off...". Was the gas on then?

If this is a tank heater: does it run on electric?

If this is a tankless heater I can surly imagine that running it without water would really cause some issues (fuses, thermal trips). Although I would to think a tankless heater would realize there was no water running and would shut itself off.
