We're working our way north to Escapade, so we've made it into Utah. We've seen some of the western part, but none of the eastern part. WOW!!! We could easily spend a month here (and probably should have). There is a Visitors' Center in Blanding, UT that has lots of good information. The young lady staffing it this morning is a native, so she gave us plenty of information on what to see and do. Our first question was to explain Bears Ears, as it seems to be in various places. Turns out that Bears Ears is several things all grouped into one big park. She showed us exactly where the actual Bears Ears monument is, and told us we would see it as we drove to Natural Bridges. There is a road that would take you up to the actual bluffs, but we decided not to take it. Good thing we didn't, as we spent far more time at Natural Bridges than we thought we would.
We're staying at a small commercial campground, Cadillac Ranch RV Park in Bluff, UT. This wasn't planned, but we're glad we're here. Yes, they do have an old Cadillac (or what's left of one) by the entrance. It looks like this was originally a very small park, and they are expanding. The original sites will take smaller trailers, while the newer sites are long and longer. All are FHU, and are priced by standard, long, extra long. We're in a long. Rock is still pretty new, but I suspect that after enough people drive on it it will be well compacted. Fire rings are at the sites, but not yet installed. Work is still going on.
We move on up the road tomorrow for more adventures.
