Electrical problem

How far do you have to turn your twist-lock plug before it quits turning, before using the collar to lock it in? Just checking to see if mine is set up the same way.

Probably just like Bungy said.....maybe an 1/8 of turn.....if even that far

I've posted this pic before, but it seems appropriate to post again. This is what I do with my 50A plug at the trailer. There is really zero need to buy an angled connector for that point of connection, and what you are seeing is a piece of 1/4" or 5/16" sash cord. At the cord end is a slip know, and the other end I made a loop long enough to slip over the trailer connector body using a bowline know. This has been working very well for me for 3 or 4 years now, and when I'm ready to disconnect, I just turn off the power, unscrew the collar ring, rotate the plug counter-clockwise and pull it out. Then lift the loop off of the trailer connection housing and the short cord stays with the 50A cord, ready for next time. This takes all the strain from the weight of the electrical cable off of the plug/recept and helps preserve the cord by not having that weight on it and trying to bend downward. And, where the rope loops over the recept. body, that is where the downward pull/strain is.....but it's straight down and you run no risk of stripping the screws or pulling them out of the trailer wall like this.

That's a good solution, but I do like my 90° adapter, mostly because it puts the cord in close to the trailer. Whatever works. :)
