I just upgraded to an epoch 460 ah essentials battery. Dropped it in, changed the settings on the wfco and solar charge controller.

Now that I'm home and hooked up to a 50a, the battery seems to have charged to 100% but I can still hear what I assume is the converters fan running non-stop.

Is this normal or should I have upgraded my controller as well?

Thanks for helping me out!

It's hard to say what is going on....there are a couple of open end statements..."seems to have charged to 100%" and "assuming it's the converter fan" running. Until you know that the battery is fully charged..AND that it is in fact the Converter/Charger's fan running, it's all guessing on our part. You need to have some way to measure battery SOC, like a decent battery shunt and then troubleshoot from there, if in fact it is the Converter/Charger still running.

Scott, it looks like this is your first post. Welcome to the forum. Which WFCO charger do you have? The fan on mine runs quite a bit, too.

Since the OP hasn't responded, I'll post that I saw on one of the Facebook G.D. pages (don't remember which one though), and it looks like he posted the same thing over there. Shortly thereafter he posted that the battery was NOT fully charged and not long after, it did reach full charge and the converter/charger fan slowed down or stopped. The way I read it, I think he got resolution to what he was asking about.

One reason why I find it frustrating that a new person begs for help, but never responds when there is an answer.

I truly believe with the internet, most questions never need to be asked. The answers are already out there, but people are too lazy to spend a few minutes looking for them.
