I'm looking at purchasing a Telescoping Ladder (300+ lbs cap) to help with access to the Travel Trailer and also to roof rack on the truck. Does anyone have experience with one and would recommend it or not?

I bought this one a couple of years ago, but see this one isn't currently available. But it illustrates the type I refer to below. Amazon.com

I like that it folds as a step ladder, thinking it would be handy. What I don't like is that it is heavy and unwieldy when trying to use it as a straight ladder. You have to lay if on its side, mess with the locking mechanisms while straightening it, then lift it upright to extend it as a straight ladder upwards, which is now top heavy. Personally, I would just go with a straight version next time, unless you know you'll need a high step ladder regularly.

This brand.

I have had one in the RV for several seasons. 760P+. Good for 250lbs. Very good quality. Lots of knock-offs on Amazon. Beware.

If the travel trailer has a ladder already I would suggest a telescoping step ladder. Something like this. That way you can get access to the top of the truck without having to lean a ladder against something on the truck.

I have one similar to this and it works out well. My other choice would be an 8 foot step ladder carried on my existing RV ladder. But with bikes on the back that won't work.

Attaching a step ladder to the existing RV ladder is a good idea.

I bought one of these several years ago when we had our Imagine. Worked well for the Imagine. Took up very little space, folds up to about the size of a 4x4 and didn't weigh at lot. Stores easily across the storage compartment, works ok for a lot of stuff but now way to short for our 5th wheel.

Now I like the vertical collapsible kind you guys are talking about. I've used one another owner had and it could reach up to the top of our front awning roller on the 5th wheel and was really stable. He had some pipe foam insulation stuck over the the ends to protect the side of the RV.,

Seems like a guy never has what he needs for every occasion ! Well maybe I'll get a second ladder like what you guys are talking about.
