First and last Grand Design

But GD "Bought the Appliance" and sold the unit as a package. Big difference from you shopping and buying an individual unit. So you are saying that you bought a kitchen range and the oven temperature does not hold, you should have to chase down Raython/Chromalox to fix the oven?
When I bought a new house, all of the appliances were warranteed by their manufacturers, NOT the builder.
RVs are the same way.

Like every other camper brand, GD is bound by the warranty parameters of the 3rd party. They were merely informing you of that provider's guidelines.

Next time you make a camper purchase, look for a brand where they manufacture their own AC, water heater, fireplace, refrigerator, oven, slide out motors, frame, axle, etc. Good luck! ;)

It is IMO a design flaw on the furrion ac units. They put the temp sensor for the ac in the return directly in the ac return in the ac unit. The result is short cycling and a trailer that isn't cool despite being set too an excessively low temp.

So in the scheme of things it wasn't broken, but another trash design from furrion/lippert. I modified mine exactly like the op, and it works infinitely better.

Warranty void I don't really care, now my AC work as it should and I don't have to set it to 60 degrees to get the trailer to 75. and why don't they have a softstart in them from the factory?
This.

Our 2023 22MLE has the updated thermostat that moved the furnace thermistor to the thermostat housing. Why they didn't move the AC thermistor as well I can't say but the RV industry frequently does illogical things. Anyway as a result of the short cycle of our Furrion AC my dealer obtained a relocation kit and moved the thermistor from inside the AC unit to a location near the TV cabinet under warranty. The operation of the AC has been good since then.

If your range failed within a year, you could have gone back to the builder and they should replace it free of charge. After a year, then yes the manufacturer's warranty comes into play. Same with GD. Our TV screen went blank within the first year and GD replaced it under their warranty.

It is all manufacturer warranty. GD is not buying you a new TV. The manufacturer is.

But during the first year of warranty coverage it is handled by Grand Design. The claim should be filed through GD.
Whenever possible, I handle it myself. I get better outcomes that way.
On my 2010 Sabre, the toilets had leaking seals. The manufacturer sent me new toilets. I installed them better and faster than having a dealer do it.
(I called the toilet manufacturer directly)

I second the getting the parts and doing it yourself. While I have not had any appliances to change, getting the parts sent to your home avoids having your trailer sitting at a dealership for days, weeks, or months. The parts I had sent to me were replaced in a day and I avoided the dealership jail routine.
