Hi. I'd love to hear feedback on our first trip planned.

Looks interesting. If you are a member of Escapees you might want to modify your route just a bit to visit The Ranch, the Escapees co-op between Carlsbad and Artesia, NM. That's where we winter. Carlsbad Caverns is a pretty interesting place.

I'll second what kb0zke said here. It's a very nice and quiet park. I overnighted there on my way to Albuquerque from Kerrville.

I read your 'full time plans' and can say I love the idea of exploring to give children exposure to the US.

We have been full-timers since the end of July 2020. We have now been to 194 campgrounds in about 36 states in that four years. We have been from I-75 westward on many of the major US Highways or interstates all the way to the Pacific coast and back and from Northern Wisconsin to the Florida Keys. Also a very large Southeast loop taking in major Civil War battlefields.

I have a "destinations list" I have researched that numbers about 380 places of which about 50 I have designated "Bucket List" places. Thus far, we have been to about half of the "destinations and two thirds of the "Bucket List".

There is a lot of educational value in traveling. Doing it full time allows immersion in the history and culture of the local communities.

When we first began as full timers, I thought we would do this for two to three years. It's been four and I don't see us stopping for at least two to three more years.

Your plan (the map) looks great. The fact you have some sort of idea of where you want to go is already ideal. It's not about the destinations so much as the journey.

You are on your way.

Enjoy.

I'd go a little further east in Feb, and stay a few days in Gulf State Park, Gulf Shores, AL. But, since I winter there for three months, I'm a bit biased. Consistently rated as one of the top 5 state parks in the country.
