I always fly Old Glory and my AZ state flag. So here we are, another RV park / camp site, and while the parking spot is great and the place is nice, we usually need to back in and of course flagpole buddy is at the rear on the ladder and not able to put it up like it should be. simple modifications with some bungie's to attach to ladder at an angle to keep flags out of trees and in site. So now on to my thought! please share pictures of modifications and / or additions of flag displaying techniques. I have an idea or two for the front of the trailer maybe on the hitch, but thought I would pose the challenge to us to share your ideas and accomplishments. Attaching flag to front of trailer will allow us to display flags anywhere we park! ! ! not sure if this belongs in the sections, but thanks in advance to all. ! ! !

I have seen several different flag mounts on front. I've used a cinder block and bungee cord to put mine in front when I didn't have clearance in back. Why are you in Little Rock in February?

I use the poles and holders bracket on the tongue of my trailer for my flag pole. Works great, but I have a bumper pull, not a 5w.

I also bought from poles and holders. Used tongue bracket on my travel trailer and now use the holder that plugs into 2" receiver on rear of the fiver.

We use a "boat style" flag attachment on our pin box. All parts are stainless. The base is fastened with 10-24 screws into threaded holes in the pin box. This arrangement allows the flag to be lit by the OEM LED lights across the front of the RV.

I have my flag pole in the front and it put the aluminum base of the pole under one of the legs of the tripod.

I wonder how that affects warranty with lippert? I know it's very trivial being such small holes, but we all know how warranties can be.

I am not sure how the warranty would be affected, but this stuff is engineered to withstand a lot of force, twisting, etc. My take, if you drill a couple 1/8 inch holes, then mount a bracket and fill the holes with screws, you haven't created any weakness in the original structure. Matter of fact, you add another support! We have added our level on the front as well. Just my take opinion etc. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !

There are parts of every structure that are critical load paths . . . and other parts that are not. Three 1/8" holes in the centre of the flat top surface of the standard pin box would not interrupt any of these critical load paths. The vertical side walls of the pin box would be a different story. And, even Lipppert is designing in a safety margin. How many landing gear stabilizer systems have you seen mounted through 1/2" holes drilled in the lower flanges of the I beam frame rails . . . which are critical load paths. I'm not losing any sleep over my flag bracket.

rob, i will be getting my flag bracket figured out when i get home and will not worry about the structural integrity of the steel either. i also have my level mounted on the hitch just under the light with 4 little 3/16 self tapping screws. No biggie. if these little holes will have an impact on the strength, then it wasn't strong enough to begin with. I just got done beating me, truck and trailer up on the lousy california freeways, and if that don't tweak the unit or bend something, i agree a couple little screws won't either. so we shall keep on keeping on. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !

The bits for my flag pole are boat railing or Bimini frame parts. The fitting screwed to the pin box is a 45* railing base. The flag pole is a piece of 7/8" stainless railing. The flag attaches to stainless hoops screwed to the pole. The top fitting is an eye fitting that would have originally gone into a clevis for a Bimini frame or similar. For me, all these parts were scrounged out of the "boat parts boneyard" that lives in my garage.

I had to temporarily move my flags from the ladder because they blocked my solar panels. Went into Quartzsite to the "flea market" and purchased 4 3" plastic spring clamps and clamped the flagpole buddy to the edge of the north facing slide edge. I hooked one of the retaining pins on the top of the slide so it wouldn't move down. Worked like a charm and withstood 25 mph winds.

So finally an update: sorry for the delay. A couple little pieces of half inch pvc pipe and fittings, a simple 3 foot little green plant stick, (coated metal) kind you find for plants. cut it in half and put your small flags on it with a little glue. The little bumps on the outside edge will help keep them from sliding on the stick. Anyhow, with a couple 3/4 inch conduit clamps and your pvc cut, glued and painted, install on the front as seen in picture. When night time comes you will have the light to keep Old Glory and your other nicely lit. so there ya go, mine is finally done, works great and no issues .junetrip3 040.jpgjunetrip3 039.jpgjunetrip3 051.jpg

I have the one from campco. I place the base under the hydraulic leg and it hold it for me there, the base is one where u can run it over with a tire and such. I have suction cups two of them on the telescoping pole, and place on the window, back left side. This works well for me.

For my trailer that is up for sale (to move on the GD line of trailers), I made use of the flat surface on the Reese Sidewinder. This couldn't be done until moving to a long bed truck, pinning the Sidewinder and removing the wedge. As I look to the purchase of a 303RLS and a stock pinbox, I'm looking at options to reconsider the design. Hope this helps20150912_121148.jpg20150912_121237.jpg others in some way.

longshot, I like the idea of the magnets and the 2 flag holder. Is the Y holder a common item? I'd like to get one.
