I agree, purely cosmetic so there is no visible crack. However did the designers/assemblers not realize the coach would rock back and forth when underway? Now the flimsy attachment to the side walls is all that is holding the rear wall intact. This rear wall in my 5th wheel has cabinets across the back near the ceiling. We have some things stored in those cabinets making them heavy. Since they are so high above the floor this creates even more rocking movement.I personally think the angle iron between floor and ‘wall’ is purely cosmetic.
If they wanted to secure rear wall using this, they would secure to aluminum framing in rear wall
Take the exterior lower skirt off your trailer and grab hold of the roof access ladder and shake the rear of the trailer. Before my fix the lower side wall and rear wall moved over an inch back and forth. The floor did not move. The lower skirt is fastened to the side wall. With this movement it will bend or bulge out.
