The vinyl flooring in our 2015 Solitude is damaged and I am looking for lessons learned from anyone that has repaired or replaced their flooring. We replaced the Thomas Payne recliners in our 5th wheel for the same reason that everyone else does; the faux leather was peeling badly. The recliners are located in the slideout and replacing them with the RecPro recliners we purchased was very straightforward. The hardest part was removing and reinstalling the screws underneath the recliners that secure them to the floor. I used the same screws that anchored the original recliners to secure the new recliners. Unfortunately the bottom frame of the RecPro must be thinner than the frame of the Thomas Payne because when I retracted the slideout, the original screws securing the new recliners were now protruding far enough down to gouge the flooring.

I have contacted Grand Design and they no longer carry the vinyl flooring that was used in the Solitudes in 2015. The only options that I can think of are, throw a rug on it and call it good, replace the entire floor with new sheet vinyl or replace the entire floor with vinyl planking. My hunch is the planking would be an easier install. A number of years ago, we installed vinyl planking in our Lake Powell houseboat. The houseboat sees temperature extremes (just like our 5th wheel does) and after a couple of years the planks started to separate due to the temperature swings, even though we had allowed room for expansion.

Is anyone aware of luxury vinyl planking that is compatible with extreme temperature swings (-10 to +95) or is there another solution that I am not considering?
