Florida Indoor Humidity Issue

I'm full timing in central-ish Florida. My 2024 2670MK has two A/C units. Only been running the one in the living space side. My question is why does it remain so humid indoors? I run the a/c on either low or high, never auto - usually set at 75 day time and 68 night time I have two hydrometers, one on the bedroom and one in the kitchen. The humidity will read at 60-80% most of the time, more on the high side overnights/mornings. I do have a humidifier in main living space, and just recently added one to the bedroom. My only real solution is running in dry mode, but that freezes me out eventually as it doesn't run based on set temperature.

I've got two friends that live in the same camp ground, one with a Coachman and one with a Jayco who's humidity consistently reads around 40% without any constant tinkering with A/C adjustments or humidifiers. Any suggestions? Is this something I need to reach out to GD for?

Right now it is 78deg and 99%humidity outside, inside our park model it is 75deg and 76%. This summer the indoor humidity has been staying between 50 and 75% most of the time, it has been a really miserable summer if you don’t like hot and humid. I don’t think there is anything wrong with your system, it is just that there is so much humidity this year no one’s system is keeping up as well as the usually do. Check your RV carefully for any air leaks and keep the doors and windows closed as much as possible so the outside air doesn’t have as much chance to bring the humidity inside.

we run a dehumidifier even with the ac running, whether it is furrion ac unit or the trailer leaks that much air.

Do you run the bathroom vent while showering and the range hood while cooking?

We found that the two Coleman Machs on each of our fifth wheels (two on each fiver) did an excellent job of keeping the humidity below 50% inside the RV. The condensation would run off the rooftop via the gutters and form puddles on the ground. If this isn't how your systems are working you may not have the thermostats set so that the compressors are cycling enough or there may be an issue with your AC. We have a large dehumidifier but only needed to use it during the seasons that the ACs weren't running.

Maybe you generate more moisture.

Breathing humans generate a lot of moisture.

Active humans generate more moisture.

Cooking and showering generate a lot of moisture.

Always easier to exhaust the moisture than to remove it.

If your friends run their AC set at lower temperature, have more sun or aren’t as well insulated, their RH will be lower.
