Forum Update - We're back! Ask your questions here.

I didn’t explain my normal way of browsing very well

I always go to the new posts screen. I go through and open the threads I want to read, then use the back button to return to the new posts screen and go down to the next thread I want to read.
You may want to consider refreshing the page rather than using the back arrow.

This software marks threads after you have viewed them. it "remembers" what you have viewed. Depending on your sort (like new posts) once you've read content and refreshed, that thing you just read will be removed from the list because you've already viewed it.

In some views (like the recent posts over the side bar) new content will be unbolded once you have viewed it.

So my three year membership has been covered to a one year subscription?
@BoredWeasel
New update...... your RV Pro membership should be extended one year. I just got this email.....

Thank you for being a valued supporter of the Grand Design Owners Forum. We’re excited to share some great news with you. As part of our recent software update, your forum sponsor account now includes an RV LIFE Pro subscription for the upcoming year!

This subscription gives you access to the RV LIFE Trip Wizard travel planner and the RV LIFE mobile app—with no strings attached. If you’re already using RV LIFE Pro, we’ve extended your existing subscription by an additional year.
If you haven’t yet explored the Trip Planner, you can log in using your existing RV LIFE or forum credentials. Don’t forget to download the RV LIFE mobile app for easy access to your planned trips while on the road.

We sincerely appreciate your contributions to the forum and your efforts to support fellow RV enthusiasts. Thanks again for making our community so special.

Pressing the "Get Started" link in the email just takes you to the RV Trip Wizard sign in (and, again, when you sign in you can check your subscription expiration date).

The new format seems very nice and the larger font is easier to read.
Thanks, KEN

Testing to insert photo and it's easy. This is from The Henry Ford Museum in 2022.

Glad to see that thread titles can be edited at least by the author. I started a thread, posted, then went back and changed the thread title I created. Still getting used to it but it seems a little easier to use. Oh yes I like the big font.

Glad to hear this. Change can be hard and many of the buttons and links are in new places BUT overall this is much nicer software AND it's mobile friendly. (big bonus)

I like it. The site is now like most other forum I frequent, including tractors and trucks. Thanks
Dennis

I'm trying to find the dark mode but no luck so far
In your acct. settings, there is a selector for a choice of "style". It only has use default settings right now.....maybe that area will be populated with a dark mode when they get done with all the tweaks and stuff.......but that is just a guess on my part.

Wouldn't dark mode be a browser setting? I mean what if this site had a dark mode, but the next site someone went to didn't: that would be a pretty drastic change going from one tab (or site) to another.

I use Safari and to get dark mode (for every site browsed) it takes an extension.

I run the Chrome Browser and I just changed it to dark mode in the settings>appearance section and it has zero effect on the forum here. All it did was made the "browser" part dark.......tabs at the top, etc.

New signatures are limited to fewer lines than you currently have BUT the old text was imported so yours still displays more lines. Moving forward if you decide to edit the signature, you'll want to group up some of the info to consolidate lines.

Currently, you have this:

View attachment 110437

You might be able to do something like this:

Bob (retired) & Vicki
Scuba Diver | US ARMY Vet (Go Cav!)
2019 Reflection 31MB | Curt Crosswing hitch | 2019 Chevy 2500HD LT Crew Cab Gasser

All that said, there are more features coming. There will be a new "garage" built for each members profile where you can fully incorporate this info and in greater details, with images.

The sig images did not import but there is a new option (already available) to add a LARGE image to your profile - a banner image.

You can see what this looks like here on my profile: Janet H
Thanks for the tip. I updated my Signature based on your input

No longer allowed. And only 3 lines allowed for your signature.

Lots of hints and tips in this link (see post 12 about signatures).

You'll still see some with more lines; that's left over from the conversation. I expect those will soon all get either updated, deleted, or truncated.

Thanks for the question.

I was hoping that as I was looking around. One nice thing is when you reply you don't have to select reply with quote, it defaults to that when you hit the reply button

ON EDIT: It seems that dark mode can be set in your browser. BUT I'm Chrome it doesn't make the entire forum dark. But on Edge and Samsung browsers (I think they're the same) the dark mode setting works nicely for the whole forum.

Doesn't work in FF either nor can I get it to work in Chromium Edge. But, I think most web sites that I visit do not have dark mode support.
