Fresh Tank Gauge always shows empty

For a year or so now, my fresh water tank gauge always shows empty. I am using a water meter when I fill the tank so I have some awareness of how much is in it.

I understand that black and gray tank gauges can be off due to humidity and stuff in the tank. Usually they show more full than they really are.

Yet a fresh tank showing empty seems to be unusual.

Any suggestions?

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot?

It appears that the sensor is connected to the Compass Connect control board under the sink. Are there specific voltage readings I can take that correspond to the tank level?

I’m guessing that either I have a bad connection somewhere or the control board is faulty.

Thanks in advance.

The wire could be loose where it hits the control panel. Murphy's law says it underneath, maybe even broken along the path to the panel.

As another option, you could install a water meter and forget the factory gauge. This way you wouldn't have to open the underbelly. As you measure the water going in, measuring the water going out will let you know exactly where you are at. Install was easy, just insert it into the intake line at the pump. This is the one I used.

How would you measure the outflow? You've got multiple sites where the water empties.
I put the flow meter in the input line to the water pump. That way it measures all the water used by the pump, no matter where the water empties. Of course this only works when drawing water from the tank, but that is the only time it really matters.
