Fresh water pump not priming

I have a G21 Momentum. Currently having an issue with the fresh water pump apparently not priming. I am pretty familiar with normal issues as to what keeps a pump from priming. I have not been successful so far at fixing my not priming issue. The one question I have not been able to answer is: can a collapsed water line at the kitchen sink possibly cause the pump not to prime? We have never had what I would expect to be normal water pressure at both hot and cold at the kitchen sink. This has been true even when hooked up to city water. Now, I'm wondering if this could be the source of my fresh water pump not priming? Any input is greatly appreciated. Bill

Can’t say about the collapsed water line being the issue, however, when my pump would not prime, it was a stuck valve inside the pump. Several videos on it.

I am not sure why a collapsed water line would cause that? The pump sucks water from the tank and pushes it to the kitchen sink.

Did it ever work? My 2022 didn't work from new. They found that they had the wrong hose connected to the pump.

Yes, the pump originally did work. After a short time, wouldn't prime. Similar story. Finally, replaced the pump. At the same time, discovered a blown o ring on the Nautilus panel. Long story, but ended up replacing the panel. Has worked since.......until this issue with no prime. Yes, not very long ago, but will check again. Believe it to be ok. (kitchen screen was kinda dirty) Cleaned and tried pump again. Still no prime.

Not that anyone would do this, but while making room for more LifePo4 batteries, I relocated the pump and installed something of better quality [stock RV parts are typically junk]. I raised the pump a few inches higher than the stock mount. That's when the priming became a problem.

I eventually lowered it below the stock mounting level and my problem went away. If everything is good [no restrictions, etc] maybe you can lower the pump before you invest in another one.

Thanks Butcher. This is not a high dollar pump. Sea Flo, NOT Shur Flo! It is only 3 gpm. I really don't know if that might affect prime. I don't see how to mount any lower. It already sits on the floor under the sink/cabinet area, pretty close to where the two fresh water tanks are mounted underneath. I have been testing the pump with both tanks full......so, I know it has plenty of water.

I suspect most of these builders know that works. I obviously found out what does not work.

Hydraulic systems are easy to understand. Just a little bit of air causes all kinds of problems. Is it possible you can put a piece of clear hose at the pump inlet to see if there is air in the line? All it takes is a pin hole for air to enter and cause priming issues or additional noises. A hole so small that air can pass, but the thicker water can't. Restrictions can also cause the pump to cavitate.

Good luck and report back what you find.
