Furrion 12v 20 cu. ft. refrigerator doors not staying closed

txloser, I'm curious if your doors have the small plastic spring loaded latches (one under each of the two refrigerator doors and one each on top of the two freezer drawers? My original fridge didn't have these but a replacement unit came with them but with no mechanism to "catch" the latches to keep the doors closed during travel. I'm curious if possibly GD or Furrion has now included something to catch these latches. Photos would be appreciated if you can take a few.
Thanks!

You guys got me looking for something external I must be missing. Furion must’ve switched things up again as my ‘24 310gk came with nothing external to keep it latched. However, whatever mechanism keeps the doors closed has done so now for almost 9k miles. And it’s been tested with food and shelves slamming against the inside of the door thanks to a different poor design by Furion. That was taken care of with plastic bins and diagonally mounted compression curtain rods.
You should hear a "snap" when the door closes. If not, then the latch needs adjustment. Granted, mine is a single door while yours is more like a French door. Hopefully, site monitor will continue to give experienced counsel.

I never really gave it much thought, but yes when you close any of the doors on the fridge, there’s a solid audible latch. So, it must have spring loaded latches/catches. I’ll get out there tomorrow and see if I can get a pic of things.

Do you have a Furrion fridge? Our last camper was a Reflection 150, and we had the 12v 16 cu ft Furrion. It had a bungee strap on top that would go around posts that were screwed into the tops of the doors. Worked very well (except for that time I forgot to put it on - then I had the same mess you described )
We had a similar mess. Discovered the screw in lock knob which neither the Furrion manual or GD manual shows in their information. That knob stopped fridge doors from coming open during travel. I sent an email to both Furrion and GD asking them to include information in manuals about lock knob.

Here’s some pics from mine. I see now there’s one catch that covers the two fridge doors and top freezer drawer. Then a single catch for the bottom freezer drawer. And a photo of the fridge as a whole to be sure it’s the same for comparison purposes.

Yeah. I too will get photos. Perhaps your dilemma is simpler than feared.
*** Granted I have a 10 cu.ft single door frig. 12volt only using roof top solar panels. Couple thoughts, Food Safety: (1) cold air pours out every time door opened. (2) measure temp of frig by measuring glass of water using digital thermometer. (3) I don't have problem with freezer door popping open in-transit. Perhaps T-style lock would solve problem. Seven photos attached:

When GD replaced my original fridge that didn’t have the latches with one that did, I asked them specifically if they had a system to “catch” the latches that could be installed on my fridge. GD said I needed to contact Furrion and Furrion said I’d need to contact GD. In the end both said there wasn’t anything planned to implement a system to utilize the spring loaded latches. YET, there it is on your fridge!

One final request if you have time - what is keeping the entire fridge from sliding out into the kitchen during travel?

The previous travel lock system used a steel bar attached to the front of the cabinet with wood screens that spanned the front of the fridge Between the doors just below the fridge doors and the top freezer drawer and another between the bottom of the upper freezer drawer and above the lower freezer drawer.

Mine is "built-in" much like a exhaust hood over cook range. Recall my capacity is 10cu.ft. lot smaller. There are two sliding drawers below, a nice feature. (flimsy though. I had to reinforce them heavily).

I swing by the trailer in the next couple days and see what can figure out/photo.

Checked out how the fridge is mounted today. I couldn’t find anything at the top. Slide was closed so just used my camera. The bottom has two little screws going in to the roller brackets(that should hold long term) and a bracket in the middle. I sure hope there’s more I don’t see. It was better not knowing.

Here’s photos of the bottom. Again, I could find anything up top.

fridgeDoor1.jpg

Our fridge came with the two bolts and large washers, which did the job but installing them was frustrating because blindly finding the holes for them was difficult.
Flynn and Ollie gave me the idea and we ended up with this configuration. The long brown thing is a 2x3 padded with Neoprene from an old SCUBA jacket (too old for that now) and covered with cloth. This way there is no sheer force on the grab bars and the door closure is solid. The center bar stows unobtrusively behind our couch.
