Furrion 12v 20cuft Refrigerator

RV Fridge in slideout

Large 12v RV absorption refrigerators do not function well when installed in slideouts because of the difficulty moving the hot air generated at the rear of the refrigerator up and out the top exterior air vent. To determine if this is the problem, simply remove the bottom and top refrigerator exterior vents and temporarily place a small desk fan in the bottom vent area at the rear of the refrigerator pointing upwards and attempt to blow the hot air up and out the top vent.
This corrected my cooling problem so I then added 4 more 12v fans and they continue to move the hot air out solving my cooling problems.

We have a 24 GD 390 GK with the 20 cuft fridge. First month had to pull it out, sent diagnostics to Furrion/Lippert to permit repair. Had to replace the control board. Been working so far.
For us it is a really poor install. The kitchen island has to be removed to pull the fridge. Now the island is less sturdy because of the repeated r&r’s

I hope yours keeps working. We have been living off and on just using a mini fridge. I think we are going to keep that mini-fridge for a long long time.

I don’t think any absorption refrigerators in slide outs work as well as those that aren’t in the slide out. I haven’t yet to this new trailer, but I’m sure I will be adding a fan in the bottom vent as I did on my previous trailer.

We have the Furrion 16 cf residential fridge. When we picked up the trailer the lights came on but it would not cool. It was replaced under warranty and the new one has worked fine so far. (6 months, fingers crossed). I believe this is a pretty common failure on these fridges.

That is how our first fridge presented. In the second fridge the lights did not even come on. I'm crossing my fingers for you too!
