Furrion AC??

The problems with Furrion AC temp control goes back many years. My new in 2021 Imagine had the old thermostat and temp control was nearly impossible. Here’s what I’ve learned. 1) Furrion steadfastly stands behind its design in spite of the problems. I’ve learned the AC was designed to allow multiple units to operate together too allow zone control of temperatures in large RVs. This ignores the fact that smaller RVs with just one or two AC units lacking zone controllers will function poorly! 2) the redesigned thermostat with the “bump” on the bottom only solves the heating temp problems. AC temp problems persist! Furrion still thinks they’ve addressed our needs. I don’t agree.

I moved sensors on both my ACs to the wall near their respective thermostats (old style thermostats). All problems solved!

Thanks Rabbit, from what I saw in some videos about this, the "New" controller/thermostat only fixes the old issue for the Heater sensor like you said. So anyone with the new hardware is only fixing the original issue and there is still no update fix for the major issue of the AC thermistor location. I am going to buy one of the plug and play kits to move the thermistor so I can return it back to factor if I have any warranty claims on the AC.

The new thermostat and control box didn’t even fix the heat issue for me. Set on 60 and didn’t shut off till 68. Replaced with a MicroAir thermostat.
I have the extra factory wiring so moving the thermistor is still an option if needed.

Yes a furion ac
Originally very little air flow to the front bedroom without another fan assisting. Now the extra fan is not needed. Airflow increased 35%

How difficult will it be to run the new wires or are you using the original wires?

Per Grand Design the new controller and thermostat addresses both issues. We will see!

There must be a new "new" kit then. :) Do you have any part numbers on the kit to share to see if others can confirm if it is the same or not as the kits they received before?

When I was changing out the thermostat I noticed that the original had a date of 2018 on it while the new one had a 2024 date. May the newer one is different. The circuit boards did look a lot different.

If it still has the thermistor sticking out of it, I can't see how it will make much if any difference to solving the problem.

I'm also curious if this "new" design has the thermistor still located in the a/c return air duct. I cant tell from the description. I do know the heating thermistor is located on the bottom of the thermostat.

I called grand design and they assured me the sensor works for both. We will see!!!!!!

I replaced the controller and control box last year with the new “upgraded” versions. They didn’t fix anything.
