My Momentum was prewired for the Furrion camera systems (both rear and side) - I only installed the rear and went with the always on version. Been installed for a couple of years now but over the past year the screen is so dark it's unusable. Not talking about a sun shade issue - just a dark screen really not useful. I went into the menu on the 7" screen and lightened it as much as it allows and even that is not a whole lot better.

Anyone else had this problem and if so what if any is a good fix? - I know besides buying another camera and/or monitor...

Hmm.
Can’t say I’ve ever had a need for a rear view camera.
I’ve always relied on mirrors and getting out of the truck to see what’s behind me when backing up.

I bet if you had one you would find it useful. But I also relied on mirrors for the first 25 years. Once I had a rear observation camera, I don't intend to go without one again. :)

Is the camera lens clean?

Had one on our previous 5 RVs. Never used or needed it. Just me I guess. ?

Fair enough. I really got used to having them so now it would be hard to live without. Doable, but not preferable for me.

The lens needs to be cleaned. Go over it with some 3000 grit sand paper, then polish it with Meguiars PlastX. You might have to do it twice to get it really clean. Will make it as bright as the day it was new.

I don't use the camera for backing up much - my wife is my camera back there. I do use it when driving to see if I am clear to merge back in after passing someone, or to see if someone is coming up to pass me.
