Question,
Does anyone know if a 2024 Chevy HD have enough voltage going to RV to support the above camera? We own a 2019 303 RLS
Jimmy

I dumped my Furrion bought one similar to this CAMERA . I tested it on my new truck and it seems to work just fine, I'll know for sure after our first trip in June. I think almost all of these cameras have better clarity than Furrion, at least mine.

OK,
So this isn’t your camera but…since the later model GM trucks supply a lower voltage to their lights, I’d would guess it affects “most” model cameras. We run a Haloview and while the camera worked for the most part, it was affected by freezes and delays just enough to be annoying so….

We added a power booster (Halo supplied) and all is well. I’m guessing the “adaptor” works along those lines. Maybe not boosting power but allowing full battery power to the camera. I really don’t know but our “power booster” that is wired into the trailer wires between the camera, supplies a measured 13.2 +/- volts to the camera. The small booster is located on the roof above the camera.

Hi,
Have you had a chance to test it yet? Was it a simple plug and play using the pre-wired Furrion mount or did you need to make some mods? TIA.

After I got my hitch installed in the new truck (installed last week) I did hook everything up and stayed powered on for about 15 minutes. I did NOT move the camper at all, but the camera worked just fine. I was watching cars go by down on the highway through the camera and everything seems normal. Edit - I just hooked up yesterday to test everything.

The camera @SGT ROC mentions is very similar to the AMTIFO we have (it costs under $100 at Amazon). We've had our AMTIFO for three years, and it has worked well, with no noticeable lag.

Thanks @Soundsailor for your input. The one I'm looking at supports four cameras and comes with one or two cameras, but it seems to be two backup cameras. Are you using side cameras? I'm not sure I need or want them, as I can see what's beside me in the mirrors, just not what's behind (and, more specifically, on my ass and wanting to pass). Can't seem to find same-brand side cameras, but maybe they are universal? Any advice appreicated.

On one trip last fall the Furrion Rear camera had been working fine until the return trip from the beach. On the way back it kept cutting out. At the first stop I re-seated the 7 pin connector but it didn't help. We had torrential rains the night before.

After getting home I took a better look and it appeared one of the pin connectors (#2) was folded funny and not making a good connection. Since fixing that and lubing the connector I have not had a problem.

We just have the single camera and it is all we need. We can see the side in the mirror.

I find (with my truck cameras) more is not good. Things get confusing, at least for me. Having them on the side of the trailer is NOT something I would do personally....
