Hello,

We just purchased a 2024 Imagine XLS 17MKE which is wired for a backup camera, I purchased the furrion backup camera, intalled it and i'm getting intermittent pairing. I tried to plug the monitor in another car closer to the trailer and same I have the same problem. I checked the wiring on the trailer and it is ok. I connected the camera inside the car on the same cable as the monitor and it works great. I connected the camera to an external 12V power supply located in the garage which is farther away to the monitors and it worked very well with no intermittent connections.

I have a solid blue light on the camera when its connected to the trailer, I measured the voltage to the camera at 14V with no fluctuation while connected to the trailer...
The voltage at the marker lights is also 14 V and no signs of fluctuation...

Anyone had this problem?

Thank you

Bruno

Welcome to the forum, there are two types of camera, one a backup camera and the other an observation camera which one do you have or check the parts numbers the one I have does the same thing also it goes in and out but it doesn't do it all the time. How or in what position do you have the antenna inside your truck and on the rv might want to check the position of the antenna pointing.

Are you towing with a newer Gm vehicle?

There are some glitches with them as far as power to the camera. The camera should only be working when the trailer is connected to the tow vehicle and running lights are on.

Make sure your vehicle car lights are on and the umbilical (7pin) is connected. My power to the camera is wired to the running lights.

This may help you solve your problem.
I made this jumper, so I did not have to hassle with hooking up the truck to the trailer.
Fused protected wire jumping from the 12V pin to the running lights pin. Just plug it into the trailer.
IMG_2902.jpg This way I could isolate the trailer wiring from the tow vehicle.

We never were able to get the original backup camera to work properly, so in January a replacement was authorized. It works great - most of the time. The few times it hasn't worked properly we were driving through Phoenix. It would freeze up, then no signal, then back to proper operation. I suspect that there may have been too much electronic traffic for the little computer to deal with.

The TV lights need to be in the "ON" position, not the automatic position. Maybe that will help? Best of luck exploring the issue.

I decided after tinkering around with his intermittent fact, even with the TV lights on, to just hard wire the camera, yes fuse protected, from the front frame junction box to a toggle switch I have mounted under the front tongue area near the battery boxes. Been just fine for almost 5 years now.

Update on this problem,

I purchased the following adapter "Furrion Vision S 7-Way Adapter with Power Switch for RV Camera System - F2BC004XXBK" and plugged it in series with the wireless break system (CURT 51180 Echo Mobile Electric Trailer Break Controller). We went camping last weekend and the camera has been working steadily so far. My vehicle is a 2017, but is already equiped with Pulse Width Modulation for the LEDs with seems to not provide enough power for the camera..
Thank you to everyone who answered the original post..

This is what I had to order for my 22 GMC.
