Disconnected AC for two weeks. Unable to activate any 12 volt items. Battery okay. Restored DC immediately upon reconnecting AC. Our previous trailer displayed no such behavior.
I have not done further testing or research but am wondering if there is anything special that needs to be done when not connected to AC shore power in order to use 12 volt systems.
I have the solar power system switched off - Chevy Pickup.
I will appreciate any ideas and/or suggestions.

It looks like you're new here, welcome to the forum. It may be that the battery disconnect switch is the source of your issue. If you can remove the key-like handle, most 12-volt items won't get power. Ensure the "key" is properly inserted and rotated to the on position. Some have found that their switch was accidentally set to off during loading etc. Oh, just noticed you have the solar off. Turn that on also.

A little confusing. You were disconnected from shore power for 2 weeks? Were you gone from the trailer for those two weeks? No 12V power to run anything? Was that after the two weeks, or during the two weeks? How do you know the battery is okay? Volt Ohm Meter? Then when you reconnected shore power, you had 12V power? Why was the solar system turned off?

When you disconnect from shore power, everything runs off the battery/ies. If you don't have enough battery/ies power, then they will drain to the point where 12V power is no longer available. When 120V shore power is connected, the converter supplies charging current to the battery/ies and runs the various 12V devices.

Soundsailor,

You were correct. The battery disconnect switch was "in the On position" but apparently not making proper contact or whatever. I disconnect the shore line, switched the disconnect Off and back On. Everything works as it should. Good call, and thank you!

John

I keep forgetting that the Battery Disconnect Switch will not shut off 12V power to the devices, just the battery/ies. DOH!
