I am considering the possibility of putting a built in generator into my Solitude. I do not believe I have the Generator Prep on this unit. How much of a job would it be to have a built in generator put into the front of the unit. I would like to do more backwoods camping. I currently have two small Honda generators that I used for my popup and smaller rv. Right now I have to parallel them together which does work, but it is a hassle lifting them in and out of the truck and setting them up when I get to camp. I am considering the possiblity of having a generator put in if it will not be a major job.

Hi @dchrist1733,

It would take some work, but I believe a generator could be added to the front compartment of your Solitude. Please contact an RV dealer for an estimate and to discuss the specific details of what this modification would entail. They can also advise if you can use your Honda generator, or if you would need to purchase a new one. For your safety, the installed generator needs to be one built specifically intended for use in an RV, and be properly shielded and vented. I do need to add that modifying your RV could affect your warranty as the aftermarket parts, installation and any potential damage caused by the modification is not covered by either of our limited product warranties. Please contact your dealer or our Warranty Dept. (our phone number in my signature, below) if you have further questions.

Thanks,
~ Janice
