Goosebox questions

I've got a 2021 381m. I want to clear up space in my truck bed, so I decided to get a goosebox. I have a few quick questions.

1. The correct part number for me is 94920 right? The other ones seem to either be discontinued versions of 16k version I think.

2. Is there anything else I need to install this thing? I saw mentioned somewhere that you may need some kind of spacer kit to install this thing, but I'm not sure it applies to mine? My pinbox says it is LCI Item Number: 708502

3. Are there any disadvantages to having this thing other than possibly harder time lining up during hookup? Seems like ride quality is said to be even better?

4. I think there is a competitor Gen Y. Is there any clear reason to go with it, or is it just marginally better/worse at some things? If the difference is marginal I'd rather pay to get the approved Goosebox.

Thanks everyone!

Step one - call Lippert with your vin and get the number of your frame's wing set. Then you can select the 20K hitch you would need for your camper.

I haven't been on the Reese site lately but I am sure it will give you the right part number for your frame's wing set. I'd say call them but you'd be on hold for probably an hour.

Other than horrible customer service when calling or emailing, I like my Reese Goosebox. I chose it over the Gen-Y for its adjustability based on varying pin weights and that is 2 inches longer than allowing for more room between my RV and truck tailgate when it is down.

You might want to mention the truck you have for all to provide some more commentary.

I thought the Gen-Y was not approved by Lippert/Grand Design but the Goosebox is? Has that changed? I still like my Goosebox ride.

Not sure about all this warranty / approval stuff. I think Gen-Y stands by the frame issues if they occur (not sure tho). I suppose it is a user issue/risk/choice.
