Gooseneck Hitch

A question for those of you towing the heavier (>16k lb gvwr) rigs: Are any of you towing with goose neck hitches than 5th wheel hitches? What has been your experience re control? I'm considering switching but have read about some degradation in control with the goose neck hitch.
