Griddle propane hose routing

My 2022 2400BH came with the Capital Griddle on a Morryde slider. There is a hole that seems to be for the propane hose located directly behind the griddle when fully pulled out.

The hose needs to be pushed up all the way through the hole to get the griddle to slide closed, but often the hose seems to get stuck, pinched, or pushed far enough back it's a pain to get a hold of.

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious. Curious if others have had issues or success with this setup.

Thanks!

It looks like you're new here, welcome to the forum. Two thoughts: a) Could you attach some spring to pull the hose back in? and b) Would enlarging the hole make it easier to get the hose to slide back on its own?
