I'm not sure if this has been addressed before, but here goes. I have a Solitude 320X and I plan on installing a handrail to the stairs, on of those teak marine handrails. Has anyone had any experience trying this? the side wall seems to be solid. Any recommendations for depth or size of screw. If anyone from GD is listening, their advice is always welcome.

Curious that Reflections come with handrails but Solitudes don't . . .

How are the walls constructed? Are there aluminum studs every 16" to 24" with like a foam core in-between?

jdmuth; yes the walls are the aluminum studs, unknown if they're 16" or 24", hence the stud finder. I placed the first bracket into the stud just to the left of the door and used the stud finder moving left from there. tntyard; mine is a common handrail available at the big box lumber of your choice. I don't remember the length, it was measured to fit to the top of the stairs and cut accordingly. I sanded it smooth and stained a color my wife chose. Finally a coating of shellac.

Tony and Judy as an owner of a 320x also, what did you come up with to hang towels on in bathroom?
Thanks! New 320x owner

I put a single rack above the toilet and a hook to the right of the sink for a hand towel. I've seen seen double racks, which I plan on replacing the single one with. A lot of possible space is gone because of the pocket doors, but I love the ability to enter the bathroom from the bedroom.

Tony, were you able to hit studs for towel racks in both locations, or did you use anchors??

Thanks!!!

My handrail has a bolt coming through a large washer then the wall from inside the pocket door and the nut is screwed onto bolt under handrail. We then cut excess bolt flush with nut. It is unnoticeable and handrail is very sturdy.

Just finished adding a handrail to my Solitude. All I have to do is get a few button plugs to cover the holes. We went to the RV show in Pomona today. The Solitudes still don't have a handrail. ??

Tony did you get your handrail installed, I am would like to know the particulars of how and where?

Thanks!!!!

My Reflection didn't have the handle installed?? Installed my own version, found solid areas to screw to on both ends. Kept to a rustic cabin look....used a birch limb to craft the rail. Cost $6

We had this hand railed installed before our Solitude 369RL left the lot. So glad.

Now that's impressive!!!

I'm still not understanding how you mounted the handrail on the area with a sliding door inside.
