Our new Influence comes with a TravlFi internet hotspot that automatically uses the best cell service provider so you aren’t tied to one specific provider. Has anyone used this system? The unlimited data plan is $129/mo but wondering if anyone has experience with it and if it works well.

We have had TravelFi for a little over a year now and it works great. I have the large router version and have the unlimited plan during summer camping months and turn it down for the winter. I also connect it to my home network and use as a backup WAN connection since we work from home full-time. The only "catch" is that it uses AT&T, T-Mobile & US Cellular. Verizon is more dominant in our area but I was told they are exploring Verizon as an option possibly to add for the future. If I'm in an area that doesn't have one of those three I connect my cellphone (Verizon) to a travel router and continue on. As mentioned by Soundsailor above I have a thread explaining our setup. Hope this helps.

I have the TravlFi Journey XTR version in my trailer. I have not used it being I have been taking my T-Mobile home internet gateway with me on trips. But there are rumors that the TMO gateway may be disabled if taken from my home area. If this happens I will try the TravlFi, but at a lower GB plan.

I used it over the winter in Florida and for the most part it was fine. I did have a few days where the speed and reliability was not enough to work remotely and I ended up using my phone as a hotspot. I suspect the priority is on the lower side for Travlfi as a reseller. I also had to power cycle the router every couple of days to get it to reconnect.

Overall for price/options in plans it is definitely a good option for a casual internet user and some remote workers. If you absolutely need rock solid cellular at all times it may not be a good fit. Possibly it comes down to your locations and the coverage in that area.

If you have the router already installed from Grand Design in your rig, it is definitely worth a try.
