For you Starlink subscribers, Starlink is increasing their Roam fee $15.00 for a total of $165.00 a month. They are adding on additional options like the ability of in-motion use. Here is the notice:

I was about to pull the trigger on Starlink. But that pricing is getting a bit steep. We have the on board TravelFi and that hasn't been great, so I may just go back to using my cell phone hotspot where I can. Thanks for posting that.

I saw that this morning. It's still the best service available, especially for full timers on the move. You can "pause" the monthly service so I may opt for a less expensive option as I winter for 5 months. T-Mobile home internet was great (in some areas)...wondering if that's the case in Phoenix.

ahhhh the benefits of having a monopoly on a very useful 'tool'......

I suppose if ya gotta have it, ya gotta have it.

I expect in the future there will be options and then we'll see what the prices end up being.

Pretty weird that SpaceX is launching Amazon's internet satellites. Another near-monopoly on launch platforms. More platforms coming soon tho. Probably sooner than alternatives to the device that Starling provides.

Really interesting. Received a similar email but NO increase in monthly fee - yet???? Wonder if no price increase because it is temporarily inactive?

True. They’re really the only game in town and from all I’ve read it’s a great bundle of tech and works as advertised. Took this pic in Cabo. Starlink dollars at work adding another satellite to the system.

This is what I understand so far. The increase of $15.00 allows one to now use their Starlink while in motion. Starlink has added another feature to the app that will allow the motorized dishes, Gen 2 and Gen 3, to go into a "Flat" facing mode for travel. The "Automatic" mode is the one we have used when setting up camp in a fixed location.
I believe prior to this, it was around $200.00 a month to have the "In motion" package.

So the Gen 3 panel will not work in motion...I would have to buy a different panel? I thought it required a different one??

Looks like the Gen 3 will work in motion. But only up to 100mph.

The email I got didn't list any prices but the website shows a 50 gb Roam plan for $50. Unlimited data is $165.

It will work in motion. Iwas was unaware it didn't have the internal motor like the Gen2 so I'm not sure what your app will look like.

FYI, the Gen3 does not have an internal motor. My bad!
