I have a ‘24’ 303RLS with a heat pump in the bedroom. When I put the heat pump on the downstairs fan runs in the air conditioner. I am being told this is normal operation. It doesn’t seem right to me. Can anyone tell me if theirs runs the same way or if this is normal.

Are you sure that the heat pump is in the bedroom? I thought they always put them in the main AC in the middle of the unit which would make sense with that one running the fan when the heat pump is turned on.

Edit, forget what said. as per @huntr70, looks like the new reflections have the heat pump in the bedroom AC. Don't have any ideas for you

Our heat pump is in the main AC which has the only thermostat that runs the furnace or the heat pump or both on occasion - depend upon the ambient temps. I'd also be surprised if it were in the bedroom AC. I know they've made changes to the HVAC vendors between 2022 and new - ours are Colemans with AirXcel thermostats. Bedroom thermostat for us only regulates the bedroom AC in our case which is all cold air - no heat. You should feel warm air coming out of the main AC if the heat pump is working in that unit - takes a few minutes.

The new Reflections have heat pumps in the optional 2nd a/c, which is a bedroom air unit.

I'm not familiar enough with their operation to comment, but I do know they each have their own thermostat, so in theory, they should not operate together.

They are Furrion, so anything goes......

After thinking about this for a bit, I wonder if the OP is running the heat from the main a/c thermostat...

The heat pump should only run from the bedroom thermostat.

I know for a fact the heat pump thermostat is in the bedroom. When I turn the heat pump on, the unit in the bedroom runs & the fan in the main unit also runs.
