Heater is loud

The heater in my reflection 317Rst works great heats well but is loud we were camping last weekend and the people 2 spaces away said that when the heater kicked on in the morning they thought a jet was taking off has any one else had complaints about this my old trailer you could hear the fan but not the burner

Yes, I commented in another thread about this very thing. With mine in the driveway I can hear mine inside the house with windows and doors closed, and the TV on!

I think that is the norm with the Atwood furnace. The Suburban furnaces have separate intake and exhaust ports compared to Atwood's single port with one inside the other...smaller effective diameter and therefore higher velocities on the combustion side of the Atwood...that means a higher noise level.

Noise is the norm, unfortunately. Nothing you can do about it other than use the fireplace or electric heaters.

We've used our Atwood furnace in our 337 a lot in the last two camping trips and really didn't feel like it was loud at all. Had no trouble sleeping with it running at all. Very pleased with how it heated the camper. On another thread of posts here on the forum someone (I think Concreteman) had their Atwood furnace in for repairs and the service tech discovered the furnace had actually not been securely fastened down at the factory, causing it to operate extremely loud. Might be worth checking out.

Yes, after mine was repaired it is much more quiet. But still seems loud compared to dometic or suburban models.

I find it to be loud. In our small travel trailer the heater was much quieter. That one is only 20,000 BTU but noise level was about one quarter of the one in our 303. Interestingly, it also consumes more poer than the manual specs say. They indicate about 8 amps and it uses about 12.5 amps when running according to my Trimetric meter. Very poor for dry camping.
