Hello from Mike and Amy
We put a deposit on a 2023 Imagine 2670MK on Friday. Good price now, really like that TT, but needed a few days to decide. Would be no concerns if I did not have to upgrade from a 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton truck. It is inevitable that I will need a 3/4 ton at some point anyway but I really like my current truck for daily driving.
Anyway, we decided to go forward with the purchase. I will use the 1/2 ton for now as we shop for a suitable 3/4 ton.
Very nervous and excited about this purchase but seems like the right time to upgrade.
We are not new to RV's. Our current rig is a Cherokee Grey Wolf. We live in SW Michigan. This year we spent 3 weeks travelling to Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Black Hills. My current truck is a 2022 F-150 Lariat Powermax.
We are in our late 50's (I will be 60 in September). I retired from a 30 career as a EE during Covid but went back as a contractor for the same company. My wife and I can work some from the road and plan to do more of that in the future. We are considering full time RV'ing in a few years. Very excited to participate in this forum.

Welcome. Make sure to keep that tongue weight heavy

Don’t try to lighten it so your 1/2 ton will work. That is a recipe for disaster
Best to overload the truck imo until you get a suitable truck

Thank you for the advice. That it interesting. I assume the issues is heavy weight in the back of trailer pulls the front of the tow vehicle up causing some instability? I will see how it does on the hour drive home from the dealer on Friday, should be interesting as camper will be empty.

Rear kitchen trailers are notorious for sway

All the weight is behind the axles

A sway situation starts by the rear of the trailer if heavier than the front will start to go faster

Of course the frame doesn’t allow the rear to go faster than the front of the trailer in a straight line so the force makes the rear go side to side to allow it to travel faster

I would personally bring some of your heavier camping gear and load it in the front pass through.

I would shoot for at least 1000 pounds of tongue weight
