Well it's weather related. Right now we are in LaGrange Texas about 25 miles North of Columbus and 80 miles North of Victoria. We have everything packed up and ready to hitch and go today. We are seeing a lot of RVs out of the gulf coast area heading north and west up highway 71 toward Austin from I10.

Our escape plan is to stay away from I10 and go North and West, head up highway 71 West to Austin, then go West on 290 and head toward Kerrville way north of San Antonio.

The latest update is the storm is expected to be maybe a Cat2 when it hits the Texas gulf coast. The track is shifting further to the Right and East. Expected to weaken rapidly once it hits land. We maybe ok where we are in LaGrange, up to 5 inches of rain maybe max wind gusts @ 50 mph, we would be on the far left side of the storm, keep shifting Right and East baby, keep shifting!

I hope it keeps shifting East also. I am leaving shortly for 14 nights at Petit Jean SP in Arkansas. They are calling for over 4" of rain over two days there.

Weather forecast just keeps changing by the hour. I think Beryl has been one step ahead of the weather channel forecasters the entire time. It has shifted and increased intensity well past several forecast predictions. We were to be in Corpus Christi next week at the Firefly coastal bend resort, but Beryl washed those plans out. Just left the trailer in storage here in Houston. Now Beryl looks to be still shifting east and getting closer/stronger to us. Good grief – time to get ready for no power for days…again.

Sorry Jim,Patricia. What's good for us is terrible for you I know. Stay Safe. Yup the power grid will be a mess. Hopefully up here around LaGrange will be ok. I think we are going to stay put. God it's going to be hot afterwards if we lose power. Got the genny ready just in case.
Track shifting right and East, I noticed what I have been looking at for our area inland the center track shifted about 45-50 miles right/east more toward Katy.

Galveston is taking special note. Jamaica Beach and the West End where we usually stay when down there, has voluntary evacuation. Gosh can't imagine I45 up to Sam Houston tollway and to I10 to head West or East to get out of the way. The Ferry out of Galveston up the Bolivar Penn to Baytown probably a mess as well.

We're sitting in Kerrville waiting to head to Arkansas. It's going to miss Kerrville, so we will sit here until the coast is clear. Steven, plenty of spots at this RV park.

We decided to set it out here in LaGrange in Fayette County. Yesterday and again last night the track kept taking more of a right turn and LaGrange ended up outside of the cone on the far left side. This morning getting a little wind and rain but no different than a normal texas thunderstorm. The RV hasn't even wiggled! She's already turning away from us. Heck as the storm moves north and east up into the midwest our kids up in Ohio and Indiana will get more rain and wind than we are getting now.

Old River Road RV Resort in Kerrville was our escape destination had we needed it. We've been there before with an Escapee's Texas Chapter Rally.

We were at the old river road resort during the big freeze in 2021. We never lost power due to being on the sane grid as the nearby Airport and VA hospital.
