How do I operate only one slide on a 369rl?

Occasionally due to weather or obstructions I need to only put one of the living area slides out. Page 94 of the owners manual has instruction for a fully manual deployment but I just want to disable one side or the other. What are your suggestions?

Use the valves that are on the hydraulic pump.

You can close one valve to only run the other slide.

Thank you, I figured as much but wasn't sure if running the pump could cause an unforeseen problem.
