I'm working on installing my EMS in my 2800BH. I want to have the display under the convenience center so will need to drill a hole and fish the cable up. I'm guessing it's just luan plywood which is very thin. What's the best way to make a nice hole in it? Since the cable plugs into the bottom of the display some of the hole will be seen so I need a clean looking hole. Any ideas? Standard drill bit, spade bit, step drill bit? I figured somebody has drilled so knows what worked best.

Thanks

Greg

I would use a forestner bit, which is really supposed to be used in a drill press, but I've used them plenty of time with a hand drill. Just be slow and steady.

for a clean hole use a fine tooth hole saw but first cover the area with masking tape. this will control splintering. Once the drill bit part is through go high speed this will lessen splintering also.
