How to remove shower faucet on 2018 Solitude 310GK

For those of you who have this dual handle faucet, have any of you removed it? It's got a slight leak on the back that runs down into the shower, but I can't figure out how the handles come off. I assume you take the handles off first to remove the fixture but could be wrong.

In the pantry, behind one of the middle shelves you will see and access panel held on with 4 screws. Everything you want is behind that panel.

While you are in there, maybe remove the guide that the shower hose goes through and put a small piece of wood behind the shower and screw the guide back on using the same holes (and some silicone). That will prevent you from having to go back in the panel again when those screws holding the hose guide strip out.
